We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our fast growing team. In this role, you’ll provide valuable quantitative and qualitative insights that will help shape our flexibility strategy. Come be part of our exciting journey!

What you'll do - Perform regular analysis on Octopus and industry data sets; for example investigations into customer behaviour
- Use data analysis, modelling, and first-hand research to help inform strategy
- Leverage Octopus datasets and data tools to rapidly deliver key business insights and deep investigations
- Build and develop models to inform key optimisation challenges
- Use Python to conduct analysis, reporting, reporting pipelines and dashboards
- Work with other areas of the Octopus Energy Group to investigate, advise on and prototype software features for solving complex business problems
- Understand client and partner objectives and pain points and communicate how our solution can be applied to their use cases Incorporate technical and commercial objectives and constraints into investigations
- Translate complex problems and solutions into results that can be understood by a broad stakeholder group across the business
What you'll need- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how to represent uncertainty in findings when informing business decisions
- Competency in Python, or another programming language and willingness to learn Python. SQL competency is a bonus.
- An ability to respond to briefs from stakeholders, e.g. conducting preliminary investigations to scope out the appropriate strategy
- A strong eye for data visualisation and ability to communicate findings at various levels of detail to different stakeholders
- An agile mindset, understanding when a fast and simple approach is best vs a deep and thorough investigation
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a clear bias for informed action and a talent for solving problems independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- An interest in sustainability, green energy and Net Zero power systems
