We are looking for consultants who can join our offices in Japan to serve our Low-Carbon Economic Transition (LCET) teamd an provide advisory services to clients.

The ideal candidate will:
Have 3 + years experience in either a consulting power / energy / environment, industry and/or public sector, with project and/or experience in power / energy/ infrastructure financing and implementation
Have a comprehensive understanding of power / energy sector policy and business practices with strong interest in climate change related topics such as new energy transformation.
Have experience in drafting of screening and scoping reports, technical reports, environmental reports- with proven experience in reviewing the work of others to ensure quality deliverables;
Have experience in conducting or managing stakeholder and regulator meetings and preparing materials to support consultation;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Have project and program management experience management experience including change management and resource management planning with experience of leading and managing project teams and staff;
Have a track record in the consenting of projects including experience in consulting with planning authorities, regulators, and stakeholders; and
ERM are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic consultant with excellent organizational skills that can work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Role expectations:
Lead and project manage a variety of climate change related policy research, strategy planning and LCET project implementation;
Navigate client projects through the strategic planning to the implemtationphases.
Undertake reviews of project deliverables to ensure that the quality of them represent ERM standards, our technical governance expectations and are in line with client needs;
Manage and develop client proposals, tender submissions and respond to framework requests;
Support business sector development and build strong client relationships as well as developing their own internal and external network;
Ensure client satisfaction through project communication, engagement and programme delivery.
A typical week would include:
Tasks would include the preparation of the report in relation to climate change related policy research, strategy planning and LCET project implementation reports,;
Collaborating with sustainability related specialists from both public and private sector and internal teams or subcontractors to ensure sustainability issues to be properly dealts with;
Be instrumental in materializing / implementing sustainability policy / strategy for a diverse range of clients;
Project management including tracking project deliverables and progressing them in accordance with scope, programme and budget;
Management of subcontractors, contracts and risk management;
Financial cost management of projects;
Championing high standards of delivery, technical governance to deliver optimal environmental outcomes;
Supporting commercial development through the identification of future work streams.
