Summary
This position is located in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in the Resource Management and Science Division. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for the position is March - November but the season may be extended or reduced due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: June 14, 2026 This position is being filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL). See below under Additional Information for further eligibility guidance.
Major Duties
Major Duties: Serve as a fisheries team field leader to accomplish fisheries management activities following standardized protocols in a safe and accurate manner. Leads the operation, maintenance, and repair of field equipment, submits maintenance and repair schedules, and provides detailed supply/equipment needs list to supervisor in a timely manner. Leads proper collection, recording and handling of fisheries field data, data entry, and editing. Maintains good oral communication with supervisor, fellow crew members, and the public regarding field activities. Demonstrates a strong commitment to employee safety by encouraging safety and operational leadership in all fisheries operations. Employee is empowered to identify, report, manage, and correct safety hazards immediately.
