The Role
ALS Environmental is poised for growth and is seeking a driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to play a key role in expanding our presence across the environmental market in Victoria and Tasmania.
In this role, you’ll lead business development initiatives, strengthen key client partnerships, and identify new opportunities across consultancy, industry and mining sectors.
You’ll be instrumental in positioning ALS as a trusted laboratory partner, driving sustainable growth and delivering value to our clients.
Based in Springvale, this role requires a proactive, self-driven professional who is comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with internal teams.
The day to day
In this role, you’ll:
• Develop and execute business development and market growth strategies
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, positioning ALS as a partner of choice
• Prepare and manage quotations, tenders, and client proposals
• Collaborate with Client Services and laboratory teams to deliver tailored solutions
• Support the development of marketing materials, technical content, and client communications
• Contribute to industry engagement through networking, events, and client interactions
• Deliver a high-quality, consistent client experience across all touchpoints
The essentials
To be successful, you’ll bring:
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management
• Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and securing new business
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Experience within environmental, mining, or laboratory services (highly regarded)
• Commercial acumen and ability to identify and convert opportunities
• A proactive, results-driven mindset with the ability to work autonomously
