About the role
We have an opportunity for a Planning & Environment Senior
Associate to join our friendly and highly engaged Public Law team.
Working closely with our partners, you will work on both litigious
and advisory environmental, planning and regulatory matters to our
public and private clients.
As a pivotal team member within a supportive and collaborative
environment, you will undertake various responsibilities including
drafting advice, contract drafting, and legal research. Your
primary duties will involve drafting advice on Federal and State
environmental regulation, planning and approval processes,
contaminated land, and statutory processes, and working on
contracts related to similar matters, such as voluntary planning
agreements, waste contracts and contracts relating to contaminated
land. Additionally, you will conduct legal research to support
advisory and transactional work, stay abreast of regulatory
developments, and conduct due diligence on environmental and
statutory processes.
The work is interesting, complex and challenging which will see
you working alongside like-minded professionals in a collaborative
team environment. You will be recognised for personal achievements
and receive mentoring to ensure your professional skills continue
to grow and develop.
About you
In order to be considered for this role you will have the
following skills and experience:
- 4+ years PQE doing similar work or alternatively have a
legal background and keen to return to private practice;
- Excellent technical and drafting skills;
- Strong people & analytical skills and excellent
communication;
- An enquiring mind as well as a possessing sound judgement
and a can-do attitude;
- A commitment to team work and achieving challenging
objectives; and
- Strong academic qualifications.
