Dyson’s multidisciplinary Energy Storage operations team is responsible for industrialisation of the new battery technology. The cells that the team delivers will push the boundaries of performance, power density, and efficiency.
Dyson Energy Storage is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to work closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain and all other business functional teams to ensure program is delivered on scope, on budget and on time. As a project manager, you will have a significant contribution and impact on our ability to scale our new cell concepts and builds while continuing to innovate our products and processes.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Senior Program Manager, you will lead and deliver Energy Storage projects that will be an instrumental part of Dyson's next generation products, influencing a multi-disciplinary teams across Dyson.
The role requires significant skills of understand and communicate project status, risk and technical progress to senior management; whilst interacting with key stakeholders in the engineering, operations and quality teams as well as key suppliers.
About the role
Leading delivery of a complex suite of manufacturing operations projects.
Communicate between teams within the Category, Engineering and Operations organisation to ensure effective and timely input; resolve conflicts and lead solutions.
Manage CAPEX approval, GR schedule and overall project budget of the assigned process
Ensure excellent financial stewardship by delivering predictable and reliable cost estimating, management and forecasting.
Manage changes in project scope, costs, resources and timing within the framework of agreed governance and change control processes.
Understanding the business case drivers and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver a scalable and future proofed solution
Responsible for defining the communications plan for each project to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed in an efficient manner.
Ownership of the level 0-2 plans and ensuring their delivery through prioritisation and escalation of unresolved conflicts.
Embedding quality across all aspects of the suite of projects to deliver successfully with no major issues at go live; this includes effective management of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
About you
At least 6 years’ experience of operational project management, ideally gained in an innovative engineering based organisation.
Good knowledge and experience of all stages of the project lifecycle, including development of business cases, mobilisation of projects.
Management of a suite of projects, including multi-disciplined teams across a variety of delivery frameworks
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
Strong leadership abilities
Enthusiastic change agent who contributes and embraces change.
Solid matrix management skills with the proven ability to deliver through others
Extensive stakeholder engagement and management skills.
In-depth knowledge and experience of all stages of the project and programme life-cycle, including development of business cases, mobilisation of projects.
Knowledge of multiple project management methodologies. (Agile, Waterfall & Hybrid) backed up by experience of applying them successfully in practice
Experience of delivering complex projects with budgets between £5m+
Experience of successfully leading large multi-disciplinary project teams across a range of locations including 3rd parties
