Summary
Collect and account for fees at various locations interacting with visitors and sharing information. Serve as front-line representative to answer questions and offer guidance to guests. Open to the first 65 applicants.
Major Duties
Recreation Fee Clerk & Technician Duties: Served as a front-line, uniformed representative, assisting visitors and explaining recreational opportunities, interpretive services, concession operations, campground availability, and trails Performed all assignments in accordance with National Park Service (NPS) and U.S. Treasury regulations for handling government funds Additional GS-07 Duties: Served as a technical authority in resolving complex or sensitive issues related to fee collection, remittance, and revenue deposits. Demonstrated advanced experience in fee collection, reconciliation, and remittance support, or equivalent private-sector bookkeeping experience. Performed accounting and financial duties using systems such as RBMS, Recreation.gov, OTC.net, Store Finance, or comparable private-sector platforms. Provided visitor services in a visitor center or contact station, including delivering public history interpretation programs for adult, youth, and student groups. Provided clear, engaging informal and formal training and educational guidance to staff and visitors to enhance their understanding, comfort, and overall experience. Supported supervisory-level fee technician duties and operations.
