As a Battery Sales Manager you will be a key player in driving our battery sales efforts. Your role will involve leveraging your experience in selling prototype batteries, managing government grant support, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creatively driving sales strategies to meet and exceed our targets.

Skills and Responsibilities

The Battery Sales Manager will be responsible for tasks and skills such as (non-exhaustive):

  1. Prototype Battery Sales:
    • Utilize your expertise in prototype battery sales to identify and target potential customers and industries.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively communicating the value of our battery technology.
    • Compile and present crisp presentations at conferences and gatherings and be able to support both technical and business questions relating to Li-ion batteries
  2. Government Grant Support:
    • Manage the process of applying for government grants and incentives related to battery technology.
    • Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to secure funding for research and development projects.
    • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting.
  3. Small Business Environment:
    • Thrive in a small business setting, taking on a hands-on role that includes wearing multiple hats to support our growth and success.
    • Adapt to changing priorities and contribute to the company's overall goals and objectives.
  4. Project Management:
    • Lead and coordinate projects related to battery sales and deployment, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives with customer requirements.
  5. Contract Negotiations:
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
    • Ensure favorable terms and conditions while safeguarding the company's interests.
  6. Profit and Loss Analysis:
    • Analyze and manage the profit and loss of battery sales projects, making data-driven decisions to maximize profitability.
    • Implement cost-effective strategies to enhance margins.
  7. Creative Thinking and Collaboration:
    • Bring innovative and creative solutions to sales challenges and customer needs.
    • Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to develop integrated solutions.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in selling prototype batteries or similar technical products.
  • Must have established network in the Li-ion battery market
  • Must have experience selling Li-ion cells and understand how cells work from the inside-out, including cathode and anode chemistries and the trade-offs of various performance parameters of Li-ion cells
  • Experience in supporting government grants and incentives for research and development.
  • Prior experience working in a small business or startup environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity in application requirements such as those of aerospace, defense, specialty vehicles, or other niche Li-ion market
  • Creative thinker with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

Work will predominately be in an office or work-from-home environment. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Travel

25% or more travel may be required.

Compensation
• $120,000-160,000 depending on experience
• Medical/dental/vision/disability and life insurance, holidays, PTO, Flexible Spending Account, Annual Bonus and 401(k) plan.
