Journeyman Pipe Fitter (Environmental / Industrial Piping)
Pay: $35 - $45 /hour
Location: Concord, CA
Skillforce is hiring an experienced Pipefitter who knows how to handle complex piping installs in the field and can take ownership of their work without needing constant direction.
This role is a great fit for someone with a background in environmental remediation or industrial construction, especially with experience in groundwater treatment, chemical systems, or underground conveyance piping. Schedule is Monday through Friday, averaging 45 to 50 hours per week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Fabricating and installing PVC, CPVC, and HDPE piping systems
- Working on groundwater treatment systems, well headers, and chemical feed lines
- Reading and executing from P&IDs, civil drawings, and project specs
- Performing field layout using laser levels to establish grade, inverts, and alignment
- Coordinating with operators on trench depth, bedding, and installation readiness
- Installing valves, fittings, flanges, unions, and mechanical connections
- Supporting both underground and above-grade piping installs (skids, tanks, manifolds)
- Pressure testing and assisting with system startup and commissioning
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of pipe fitting experience, ideally in environmental or industrial work
- Strong experience with PVC, CPVC, and HDPE systems
- Ability to read P&IDs, plans, and specs and translate them into field work
- Experience with layout, grading, and trench coordination
- Solid understanding of safety and jobsite expectations
Certifications:
- HAZWOPER (preferred, can be provided if needed)
- OSHA 10 or 30 (training available if needed)
- Confined Space Entry (a plus)
