We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.
Who we areYou might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.
The Living Wage Foundation’s statement 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' is one that we are proud to commit to in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.
The role
Lush Manufacturing is the second-largest employer in Poole, with multiple production and distribution facilities across the area, supplying fresh, handmade cosmetics to Lush shops in the UK and Ireland, and around the world. With the ambition to leave the world Lusher than we found it, Lush seeks to complete our Manufacturing Services team with a proactive, passionate individual who can support UK Manufacturing in delivering our goals.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce our environmental impact and engage manufacturing teams in pursuing initiatives to improve our water, energy, and waste production and consumption. This role will also ensure the provision of those services, overall monitoring, and compliance with legislation.
You will be self-motivated, have a strong ability to self-manage, organise priorities, and communicate well. You will be part of a dynamic team and also supported by a community of peers passionate about taking environmental action. You will have the chance to help shape Lush’s sustainability strategy and be part of a fast-paced learning environment. You will work closely with the Facilities, Maintenance, and Process Improvement teams, the Environmental Engineer, and regularly liaise with our Recycling Centre (the Green Hub) to ensure goals and strategies are well-communicated and aligned.
