DescriptionSustainability Coordinator will support the deputy nursing officer (Go Green Sustainability lead), to provide high-quality care while minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable health systems. This role is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about environmental health, public well-being, and responsible resource use within the healthcare sector.
Working under the guidance of the admin coordinator supervisor the Sustainability Coordinator will assist in implementing green initiatives across hospital operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable procurement. The role also involves supporting awareness campaigns, helping collect and analyse environmental data, and contributing to hospital-wide sustainability reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of environmental and social sustainability initiatives.
- Help organize campaigns, events, and workshops to raise awareness about sustainability within the organization.
- Collect and maintain data related to waste, energy, water, and resource usage.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal use and external disclosures (e.g., internal KPIs).
- Conduct research on sustainability trends, best practices, and local/global regulations.
- Support the development of case studies and internal presentations on sustainability efforts.
- Collaborate with teams across departments (facilities, procurement, HR, etc.) to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations.
- Support sustainability communication efforts—posters, digital content, or internal newsletters.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Public Health, Engineering, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Internship or volunteer experience in sustainability or environmental advocacy is a plus.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a customer facing role desired.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to efficiently manage digital documentation and communication.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively across multidisciplinary teams, patients, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.
- Ability to maintain professional and personal credibility across all staff groups.
