Job Description:

A Lead Civil Engineer for a solar energy is responsible for overseeing the civil and structural design and execution of solar power projects. Key duties include structural design calculations, managing a team of engineers, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with other departments. The role requires a civil engineering background with experience in projects like equipment foundations, roads, drainage, and buildings for solar plants.

Core responsibilities

Design and analysis: Perform structural design and analysis for various components like equipment foundations, control rooms, and module mounting structures, using relevant codes and standards.
Team leadership: Lead and supervise a team of civil design engineers and drafters to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
Document review: Review and validate engineering drawings, vendor documents, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to ensure alignment with project requirements and site conditions.
Project execution: Oversee civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Coordination: Collaborate with other disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.) and stakeholders, including contractors, site teams, and internal departments.
Problem-solving: Resolve on-ground execution challenges by coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Technical support: Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-bid engineering to commissioning and operations.

Required qualifications and skills

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Experience: Previous experience in civil and structural design and analysis for power or solar projects is essential.
Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
- Proficiency in structural design and calculations for foundations, steel structures, and buildings.
- Familiarity with CAD and BIM software is often required.
