Summary
This position is a Maintenance Worker Helper, WG- 4749-5 working with the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge Complex, in Cathlamet, Washington.
Major Duties
This is a temporary appointment intended for seasonal work that is less than 6 months or 1040 hours from the date of appointment/service year. It is expected this position will be terminated upon completion of the seasons work. The agency may non-competitively rehire an eligible temporary seasonal worker in subsequent years who works less than 6 months or 1040 hours in their service year. As a Seasonal - Maintenance Worker Helper your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists in lifting, carrying, holding materials and performing other related tasks in installing outdoor water systems, cleaning plugged water pipes and sewer lines. Aids in the installation, repair and alteration of: cabinets, doors, hardware (such as hinges, catches), interior trim. i.e., sheetrock, baseboards, tile, linoleum. etc., by holding bracing materials, handling tools, materials or fittings. Assists in mixing and pouring cement and in the construction of very simple forms. Performs simple and routine tasks in the leveling of concrete projects such as walls, slabs, walks, curbs. Prepares and paints interior and exterior building surfaces by scraping or brushing to remove old paint and applying new paint or sealant through use of brushes, rollers or sprayers.
