Job Purpose:
The ESG Analyst in a copper business plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics. This position supports the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and contributes to sustainability reports and governance frameworks. The role involves collaborating across departments to gather key performance data and prepare comprehensive ESG reports to support decision-making at the organizational level.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Manager - Environment will spearhead the environmental stewardship of the Mundra Copper Manufacturing Complex by:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive environmental management systems and frameworks that ensure compliance with all applicable national and state environmental regulations.
- Leading environmental risk assessments and audits across the manufacturing process to identify potential impacts and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Driving initiatives for pollution control including air, water, and soil quality management with a focus on minimizing emissions and effluents.
- Championing waste management practices, emphasizing reduction, recycling, and safe disposal methods in alignment with circular economy principles.
- Collaborating closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to embed environmental considerations into all operational plans and processes.
- Coordinating with regulatory bodies, local communities, and internal stakeholders to maintain transparent communication and build partnerships for environmental sustainability.
- Overseeing environmental reporting including preparation of statutory reports, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and sustainability disclosures.
- Leading and mentoring the environmental team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous professional development.
- Implementing energy conservation measures and exploring opportunities for renewable energy integration within the manufacturing complex.
- Driving training programs and awareness campaigns to enhance environmental consciousness among employees and contractors.
- Managing the response to environmental emergencies, spills, and incidents by designing robust contingency plans and ensuring readiness.
- Continuously monitoring technological advancements and industry trends to recommend and adopt best-in-class environmental practices and innovations.
- Supporting corporate sustainability goals by integrating climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies into the operational framework.
- Ensuring alignment with Adani Group’s values of Care, Innovation, and Excellence through all environmental initiatives.
- Leading cross-functional teams on sustainability projects aimed at improving environmental performance and achieving certifications such as ISO 14001.
- Promoting inclusive work culture by fostering diversity and ensuring environmental equity in community engagement activities.
QualificationsEducation Qualification:
- Bachelor's / master’s degree in science or Chemical or environmental science, Sustainability, or related field
- A Master’s degree in Environmental Management or equivalent will be preferred.
Work Experience (Range of years):
- Over 12years of progressive experience in environmental management within the copper manufacturing or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives in complex manufacturing environments. -
- Extensive knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and best practices relevant to the copper manufacturing industry.
- Environmental regulatory compliance expertise.
- Leadership in environmental risk management and mitigation.
- Proven ability to develop and implement environmental management systems.
