Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and looking to gain hands-on experience in the mining sector? We are seeking a motivated Environmental Intern to join our team at the Orano Mine at Trekkopje, for a 6-month internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with environmental monitoring programmes, including air quality, water, waste, and biodiversity.
- Support the implementation of environmental management plans and site procedures.
- Collect, capture, and analyse environmental data.
- Participate in site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
- Assist with rehabilitation and conservation initiatives on site.
- Support the preparation of environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to sustainability and environmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing environmental awareness campaigns.
- Support projects related to water management, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Participate in environmental impact assessments and related studies where applicable.
- Assist with updating and maintaining environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with administrative support.
REQUIREMENTS
- A qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must be a Namibian citizen.
- A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
