Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Officer to oversee safety and compliance operations across 19 facilities in support of the Director of Corporate Services. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety policies, ensuring OSHA compliance, and creating a safe and healthy work environment across all organizational locations. The successful candidate will lead safety initiatives, conduct inspections, coordinate corrective actions, and provide critical training to employee-owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee fire safety and health protocols across 19 facilities with routine inspections, testing, and detailed record maintenance
- Maintain physical spaces to ensure OSHA compliance and safe, clean work environments
- Draft, implement, and update comprehensive safety and risk management policies
- Conduct OSHA inspections, identify violations, and coordinate corrective actions with safety officers
- Provide guidance and training to employees utilizing the organization's training systems
- Serve as active member of Crisis Management, Safety Communications, and Facility Emergency task forces
- Develop and conduct Environmental Health and Safety training for employee-owners
- Standardize corporate safety supplies and evaluate new suppliers and procurement options
Must-Have Requirements
- US citizenship required due to sensitivity of customer requirements
- One of the following certifications: Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to understand and implement safety regulations, including OSHA standards
- Education and Experience combination: High School Diploma/GED plus 20+ years experience, OR Associate's degree plus 14 years, OR Bachelor's degree plus 12 years, OR Master's degree plus 10 years
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Deltek software
- Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and climb ladders for safety inspections
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Proven experience administering fire safety and health programs in multi-facility environments
- Experience developing and implementing safety policies and risk management initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to train diverse employee populations
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities for compliance documentation
