DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Formation Operation Supervisor to lead our lead acid battery formation operations within a high‑performance manufacturing environment. In this role, you will oversee formation technicians, ensure safe and efficient workflow, maintain high product quality, and collaborate cross‑functionally to drive continuous improvement. You will play a key role in achieving production targets, supporting team development, and optimizing all formation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Daily Oversight
- Supervise, coach, and develop formation technicians; conduct ongoing training and performance feedback.
- Ensure consistent execution of formation tasks, adherence to procedures, and maintenance of a strong safety culture.
- Enforce PPE requirements, SOPs, and all applicable safety policies.
Formation Process Management
- Oversee all formation activities, including charging, discharging, equalization, and conditioning.
- Ensure production goals, cycle times, and quality expectations are achieved.
- Monitor formation cycles and verify compliance with operating standards and customer specifications.
Process Monitoring & Data Analysis
- Track and analyze key formation data (voltage, temperature, SG readings, and cycle results).
- Identify deviations, adjust process parameters, and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and refine formation methodologies.
Equipment Oversight
- Conduct or coordinate routine audits, calibrations, and functionality checks of formation equipment.
- Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and equipment logs.
Documentation & Compliance
Create, update, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
- Ensure operational documentation is accurate, compliant, and consistently followed.
- Support internal and external audits related to safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure material availability and workflow continuity.
- Partner with Production Planning to schedule formation activities aligned with customer demand.
- Stay current on industry advancements and technologies to support process enhancement.

QualificationsQualifications
- Hands‑on experience in lead acid battery formation operations.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of charging, discharging, equalization, and formation processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and motivation skills.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, BMS, or similar systems).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and manufacturing standards.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Experience in high‑volume or high‑precision battery manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean tools, 5S, root‑cause analysis, or similar continuous improvement methods.
