Position Overview
The Pricing Department is seeking a detailed-oriented and analytically driven individual to support pricing initiatives and system cost management. This role directly contributes to sales growth by shaping pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability, grounded in a deep understanding of the cost-to-margin relationship.
Working closely with the regional and sales teams, the incumbent will conduct market pricing analysis, review internal pricing structure optimization through proper segmentation, as well as support and suggest the pricing strategy.
This position requires strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills and will be a driver to maintaining the company’s competitive position.
What you will accomplish with us:
Key Responsibilities:
• Pricing Strategy: Execute pricing initiatives as outlined, assessing market position, competition and industry trends.
• Margin Optimization: Assist in the building and managing dynamic reporting models that align with budgeted margin targets, driving consistent improvements in profitability.
• Drive Margin Growth: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance gross margin by optimizing both pricing and cost structures in line with company goals.
• Regional Pricing Analysis: Compare national and regional pricing models, collaborating with sales and leadership teams to identify areas for improvement.
• KPI Development and Tracking: Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to pricing and margins, ensuring alignment and understanding across regional teams.
• Cost and Pricing Coordination: Work closely with Cost Analysts to streamline process allowing for timely execution of customer price increases.
• Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of changes in the industry and regional competition, ensuring pricing strategies are adapted to the environment.
• Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with eCommerce, Procurement, Product Management, and Marketing teams to align with pricing initiatives.
• Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to sales, order-entry, buyers, etc. on how pricing functions with the emphasis on creating collaboration.
• Process Improvement: Promote efficiency in all aspects of the pricing functions, aiming on delivering long-term value and scalability.
What You Bring to Our Team:
Qualifications
• University Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in business analytics, pricing strategy or financial analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Infor Sx.e , SAP) or pricing optimization software is a plus.
• A self-starter, change agent who can proactively drive continuous improvement grounded in data-driven analysis.
• Good communication skills with a proven ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the company.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including analytical, administrative, and tactical execution where required.
• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of cost to sales fundamentals in distribution.
• Proven presentation skills
• Bilingual (French & English)
Preferred Skills:
• Advanced analytical skills with a focus on pricing, business intelligence tools or programming.
• Sound understanding of ERP systems.
• Familiarity with financial or pricing principles in a distribution environment.
