Summary
This position is being filled as a College Graduate under Public Law 115-232, 5 CFR § 315.614 Recent graduates who completed a bachelors or graduate degree within the previous 2 years. Uniformed service members who completed a bachelors or graduate degree and were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining their degree due to uniformed service obligation of at least 4 years, may apply within 2 years of discharge from uniformed service. Open to the first 75 applicants or until 4/17/2026.
Major Duties
Manages and preserves park archival and manuscript collections within NPS Museum Collection and Records Management guidelines. Accessions appropriate collections into the park museum collection, research provenance, writes descriptions and finding aids to provide access. Manages archival work and physical and virtual reference service areas, including the park library, for researcher access and use of collections in person and online. In consultation with the supervisor, surveys park records in all park structures, identifies historical records, determining which materials are inactive for disposal. Assists in monitoring and maintaining the environment for collections, including the housekeeping and integrated pest management programs. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level (of GS-09).
