The typical season for this position is April - September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is April 2026.
Major Duties
These positions offer two work schedules listed below. In the application process you will be prompted to indicate the work schedule you wish to be considered for. When prompted you may select one work schedule or both. Full-time Part-time (24 hours per week) If selected, you will work as a Recreation Fee Technician, GS-0503-05, at Denali National Park and Preserve. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Collecting and accounting for mountaineering special use and park entrance fees, issuing National Park Service passes, and maintaining accountability records. Answers questions, often of a repetitive nature, and provides climbing registration guidance and other resource information to mountaineers, as well as to the non-climbing public in a mountaineering and visitor contact station. Advises visitors of park regulations and explains the importance of such in order to encourage visitor support for protection of the resources and/or safety of visitors. Answers the telephone, responds to email and written correspondence, and handles mail pickup, sorting, and delivery to staff. Assists with maintaining a tidy and safe atmosphere in the visitor center, coordinates routine front desk operations, and completes special projects assigned by the supervisor.
