Major Duties
Major Duties: Plan, direct, and manage protection programs. Apply comprehensive experience and understanding while providing oversight, managerial expertise, supervision, and assistance to the division for a wide variety of ranger services and functions. Develop, negotiate and amend cooperative agreement, MOU's, memorandum of agreements, and annual operating plans. Engage in extensive public and interagency relations to carry out the complicated divisional and park programs. Serve as the senior law enforcement official to ensure the accomplishment of the law enforcement mission of the park. Investigate, apprehend, or detain individuals suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the United States committed within the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. Perform the full range of supervisory duties to include performing overall work planning, establishes work schedules and priorities, and assigns and reviews work; ensuring equal opportunity for all Division employees supervised in the selection of employees for training, promotions, awards and recognition; labor relations, and on-the-job safety and health of all employees. Represent the park on several multi-agency and multi-discipline teams and workgroups. Communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide range of stakeholders.
