About The Role
We’re looking for an Interconnection Engineer to join our growing team at Solar Landscape. In this role, you’ll help drive the interconnection process across a large portfolio of commercial rooftop solar projects, partnering cross-functionally to navigate utility requirements and keep projects moving forward. Reporting to the Director of Interconnection, you’ll play a key role in scaling processes and supporting the successful delivery of clean energy projects.

Responsibilities
- Create, track, and manage all interconnection applications and engineering drawings for various projects within Solar Landscape’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM
- Manage utilities’ customer portal system daily.
- Research utility infrastructure to inform projects on interconnection options.
- Assist in incentive applications and materials for Solar Landscape projects.
- Coordinate with internal teams and processes for making payments on interconnection applications, upgrades, and system impact studies.
- Inform other technical and non-technical teams on interconnection specifications.
- Provide interconnection and incentive related materials as requested.
- Attend interconnection policy working group/lobbyist meetings and keep notes for review/discussion with the Director of Interconnection.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Electrical Systems, Computer, I&C, Power Systems or similar
- Knowledge of electrical power concepts and power systems analysis, especially utility scale power systems
- Understand solar and storage project electrical components, including batteries, balance of systems, inverters, and transformers.
- Understand solar and storage project single line diagrams and layouts.
- Understand utility infrastructure and interconnection processes.
- Understand implications of Project Development and Project Engineering on interconnection aspects
- Experience with electrical diagrams at 480V and above
- Experience with AutoCAD (to edit/draft site plans and one-line diagrams)
- Previous role with an electrical engineering company, or an electric utility in their engineering, Distributed Energy Resource, or Distributed Generation departments preferred.
- Strong written & oral communication skills
- At least 1 year of experience working with a utility or solar developer required.

$80,000 - $95,000 a year
Salary will vary depending on your location and job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
