Aerospace Lubricants, a subsidiary of AMSOIL, is a specialty grease manufacturer located in Columbus, Ohio. We manufacture products for everything from defense systems and spacecraft to offshore boats and motorcycles.
Aerospace Lubricants is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance/ Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (QA/EHS Specialist). This role supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Core Responsibilities
Enterprise Alignment & Governance
Execute site-level QA/EHS responsibilities in alignment with AMSOIL corporate standards, policies, and management systems.
Ensure local procedures, practices, and controls remain consistent with enterprise QA/EHS expectations.
Identify gaps, risks, or deviations from corporate standards and escalate appropriately through established governance channels.
Support enterprise audit readiness by maintaining consistent documentation, records, and corrective action tracking.
Quality Assurance & Management Systems
Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) at the site level to ensure ongoing compliance with corporate requirements, ISO standards, and applicable certifications.
Conduct internal audits, support external audits, and track corrective and preventive actions.
Analyze defect trends and nonconformances; lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records, and reports.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
Implement and administer corporate Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs at the site level to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct safety audits, job hazard analyses, and workplace inspections.
Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Support the Environmental Management System (EMS) in alignment with ISO 14001.
Collect and report environmental and safety data, including ESG-related metrics.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field. 1+ years of quality assurance, EHS, or other safety-focus related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement techniques, particularly in value chain process analysis, is preferred.
Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma) or any EHS stream is preferred.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to be insurable for AMSOIL INC. vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
Understanding of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulatory requirements.
Ability to operate effectively within a standardized, enterprise governance framework while executing responsibilities at a site level.
Understanding of escalation pathways and the importance of timely communication of risks.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
