Essential Functions
* Responding to pollution complaints, investigating causes, and making recommendations for remedial actions or enforcement cases.
* Inspect biosolids/sludge/grease hauling trucks and package plants .
* Provide information and technical assistance concerning environmental regulations, domestic and hazardous waste management, waste disposal procedures, pollution control/prevention, natural resource protection, environmental review of site development plans, referral of regulatory violation for enforcement, and other issues to businesses, property owners, contractors, developers, and the public.
All of the job duties may occasionally be required outside of standard office hours.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
* Monitors inventory of division equipment and supplies; ensures availability of adequate materials to conduct work activities; initiates requisitions for new/replacement materials; obtains product information and competitive price quotes for prospective purchases.
* May investigate complaints regarding pollution, hazardous waste, natural resources, conservation, or other environmental issues; documents findings of investigations and makes corrective recommendations; updates complainant with information regarding complaint; monitors status of complaints to ensure resolution; notifies appropriate authorities of case problems or incidents as appropriate.
* May perform sampling of groundwater or surface waters.
* Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental field or closely related required.
• One (1) year of previous experience preferred.
• Candidates without a related degree should possess an additional four (4) years of related experience.
• Fingerprinting Required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.

- Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
