EPA works to prevent and reduce the harmful effect of pollution and waste on Victoria's environment and people. We work with community, industry and businesses. As the needs of Victorians change, we must be equipped to adapt and respond to a range of factors.
Illegal waste dumping harms communities, damages the environment and impacts public health. At EPA Victoria, we don’t just respond - we investigate, disrupt and prevent environmental harm before it escalates.
As an Officer for the Protection of the Local Environment within our Illegal Waste Dumping Taskforce, you’ll be on the front line - working directly in communities to identify offenders, support enforcement action and deliver real environmental outcomes across Victoria. Reporting to the Team Leader, Environment Protection - Illegal Dumping, this role is central to EPA’s response to illegal waste dumping in public spaces.
You’ll work closely with local councils, EPA regional operations, the Environmental Crime Branch and partner agencies to investigate reports, identify offenders and deliver targeted prevention and deterrence initiatives.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys problem solving, inquiry-based work and collaboration, and who thrives in a dynamic, field based regulatory environment.
