Position Summary
The Facilities Supervisor oversees and develops multiple shift leaders and their respected teams. They are responsible for directing, coordinating, and supporting maintenance plans across multiple shifts. This leadership role places a strong emphasis on cross‑departmental communication, ensuring seamless information flow between departments, accurate and thorough shift handoffs, and consistent operational continuity. The position requires strict adherence to safety standards, proactive problem‑solving, and a commitment to achieving production and performance goals, all while fostering a collaborative, efficient, and safety‑focused work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage operations across multiple shifts, including two salaried leaders and a team of approximately 20 technicians.
- Coordinate daily activities with production teams and other cross‑departmental partners to ensure seamless operational alignment.
- Serve as the primary Facilities point of contact for plant leadership during assigned shifts.
- Act as the Safety Owner for the Facilities team, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and conducting routine safety audits on facilities‑related work.
- Plan and coordinate equipment downtime, repairs, and maintenance activities, working cross‑functionally to establish and execute project priorities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to facilities technicians in the development, execution, and training of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure all shift assignments are completed safely and in accordance with established safety procedures and facility standards.
- Plan and coordinate project requirements with contractors and internal stakeholders, communicating impacts and ensuring a safe and controlled work environment.
- Train and mentor junior leaders in coaching techniques, performance management, and corrective action processes.
- Align team performance and decision‑making with overall leadership vision, operational goals, and organizational direction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher in technical disciplines is preferred.
- Minimum of four years of military or industrial experience in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical controls.
- Proven leadership experience with at least four years managing teams in a high‑throughput manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to document work within a CMMS platform.
- Experience developing and performing preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on building systems and PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Building Management Control Systems and proficiency with HMIs and PLCs.
- Solid electrical, mechanical, and controls expertise with advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and leadership.
- Ability to perform under pressure while meeting deadlines and operational expectations.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and system resolution.
- Experience supervising maintenance, testing, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Ability to oversee regulatory testing, including fire pump and sprinkler system maintenance.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in restoring and maintaining critical systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical distribution, compressors, chillers).
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and standards.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Effective situational awareness, with timely issue escalation and reporting.
- Promotes accountability, consistency, and operational excellence within teams.
Physical Requirements

- Able to communicate verbally efficiently.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
