ABOUT THE POSITION
As a member of the Site Operations team, the Groundskeeper provides routine care for Oxbow’s grounds so that they are well maintained and accessible for year-round programs and events. Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of Grounds & Gardens, the Groundskeeper works with the Landscaping Lead to install and tend to landscape features around the site that highlight the beauty of the Snoqualmie valley and the diversity of native plants of the Pacific Northwest.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Basic grounds maintenance including mowing/weed-whacking, lawncare, and pruning.
- Clearing brush from trails, pathways, driveways, and roads.
- Landscaping work as needed including hand weeding, irrigation, soil moving, mulching and plant installation.
- Properly use various equipment, tools, vehicles, and tractors, maintaining them for longevity.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
CORE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of use and care of motorized equipment and hand/power tools used in grounds maintenance work.
- Interest and enthusiasm in native plants, and incorporating them into beautiful, approachable landscapes.
- Tractor and zero turn lawn mower operation experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to grounds-keeping and maintenance work.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment of up to 60+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stoop and move close to the ground for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require fine motor skills
- Attentive eye for detail and landscape design, seeking efficiency with the ability to multitask.
- Must be able to work outside, in all types of weather.
- Ability to receive feedback and incorporate it into work.
- Eager to ask questions when uncertain of the directions given, and follow-up when a task is complete.
- Occasional weekend work may be required depending on Oxbow’s calendar of events.

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, non-exempt (salaried) position paying $55,000-$56,000, depending on experience. Oxbow offers employer-paid health benefits, a retirement match, paid holidays, and competitive sick and vacation time.
