Responsibilities- Support the China, ASEAN and wider APAC team in order to perform technical advisory work for renewable energy projects (wind, solar PV and BESS). Its primary duties will be to execute electrical sections within the report, perform site visits to projects and construction monitoring.
- Perform electrical design review for substation design, collection and transmission line design, grounding system design, lightning protection system design, fire protection system design, electrical design studies (short circuit, AC power flow, harmonic study and arc flash) etc.
- Perform grid interconnection and grid curtailment review.
- Execute and complete IE and TA reports. Summarize key results and conclusions. Special focus on the electrical portion within an IE/TA report.
- Work with multi-disciplinary team to identify project risks, barriers, issues and propose possible solutions and mitigation strategies.
- Perform site visits during construction and operation and oversee and perform monthly construction monitoring site visits to review progress against technical specifications, budget and milestone schedule. Perform monthly construction monitoring reports if needed.
- Ensure project deliverables stay on time, on target, and on budget.
- Schedule and attend client meetings with lenders, developers and owners as needed.
- Represent UL Renewables at conferences and business development meetings.
- Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
Qualifications• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 7 years of experience within the electrical engineering-related works, preferably in the design of projects desirable in wind, solar PV and BESS projects.
• Experience with Chinese as well as international related codes and standards.
• Self- learner, proactive working, ability to work under pressure and work independently.
• Fluent in English in both speaking and writing.
