Summary

The typical season for this position is May - August but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is May 2026.
Major Duties
Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following: Serve as a front-line representative of the unit, working at the Bering Land Bridge Heritage Center, located in the Sitnasuak Building on Front Street. Open, close, and operate the Heritage Center. Answer questions from visitors about Bering Land Bridge National Preserve and the Seward Peninsula, local culture, nature, and outdoor activities. Use good customer service skills to help people who walk in the door, call on the phone, or write in with a question. Document visitation statistics. Assist rangers when they develop and present educational programs for groups of children and adults. Operate audio-visual equipment, standard office equipment, and computers. Stock brochures and keep the front desk organized. Sell books, operate a cash register, and keep the bookstore neat. Please visit find a park for additional park information.
