Recycle Ann Arbor is searching for a Curbside Collections Driver to join our growing Curbside Collections department. Recycle Ann Arbor is a mission-driven Zero Waste organization whose mission is to develop and operate innovative reuse, recycling, and zero-waste programs that improve the environmental quality of our community. As a Mission Based Non-Profit Organization, our annual budget is $8.5M, almost entirely generated by earned income from Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) recycling processing services, Recycling Curbside Collection Services, Recycling Drop Off Services and Construction & Demolition (C&D) Recovery Services. We have approximately 60 employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Curbside Manager, the Curbside Collections Driver will ensure outstanding customer service, efficient material processing, and a successful recycle environment to meet the recovery goals of Recycle Ann Arbor.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Driving and operation of collection vehicles on daily recycling routes.

Collection of missed pick-up service locations and other service requests.

Attention to safety at all times.

Use the route management system on the truck, including reporting service issues.

Ability to read maps to complete daily route assignments.

Perform daily pre/post-trip truck inspections.

Identify and report any truck maintenance issues such as leaks, spills, and other mechanical issues.

Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of assigned truck.
- Communicate with dispatch and other drivers as needed via radio system.

Tag curbside carts to identify service issues.

Ensure carts are left upright, undamaged, and in the position retrieved for service.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Possess a CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement, a good driving record, and ability to safely operate a residential route truck.
Possess a current DOT medical certificate
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly and the willingness to perform physical labor, including moving carts for service, in all types of weather on a daily basis
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, squat, push, pull for extended periods of time
This is a DOT regulated position. Post-offer, pre-hire candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol, safety, and driving history checks per DOT driver qualifications requirements.
