AMSOIL is looking for a dedicated EHS Specialist to lead the development and management of our safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact by supporting our EHS Site Champions, driving behavior-based safety initiatives, and maintaining environmental compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
This position reports on-site to the AMSOIL Center located in Superior, Wisconsin.
Core Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development, Implementation, and Culture Building
Develop, implement, and maintain AMSOIL corporate safety programs, including hazard communication, forklift safety, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and other OSHA compliance programs
Conduct job hazard analyses and implement mitigation measures
Track and report on safety work orders, ensuring timely resolution of safety concerns
Maintain compliance reporting for OSHA and other regulatory bodies
Conduct accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans
Implement, facilitate, promote, track, and trend behavior-based safety deployment
Engage employees at all levels to enhance safety awareness and accountability
Support and mentor EHS Site Champions in manufacturing and distribution centers, ensuring alignment with AMSOIL safety objectives
Facilitate and support safety committee objectives and meetings
Audits, Inspections, Compliance, and Reporting
Conduct facility, equipment, and operational inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards
Perform safety audits to ensure compliance with AMSOIL safety programs and regulatory requirements
Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and recommend corrective actions
Support industrial hygiene initiatives and improvements to work environments
Complete OSHA and workers’ compensation reporting and recordkeeping requirements
Perform internal audits to maintain safety and environmental compliance in accordance with ISO 14001 & ISO 9001 and business objectives
Develop reports to support quarterly EMS progress updates and other data as needed
Training and Communication
Develop and facilitate safety and environmental training to ensure employee awareness and compliance with AMSOIL policies
Create and distribute safety materials to enhance understanding and engagement
Train, mentor, and provide subject matter expertise for EHS Site Champions at distribution centers and manufacturing sites
Environmental Compliance and Support:
Ensure AMSOIL's Environmental Management System (EMS) remains compliant with ISO 14001 standards
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of AMSOIL’s ISO 14001 EMS initiatives
Perform environmental inspections, drills, and audits in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Gather data to manage the greenhouse gas inventory as part of AMSOIL’s carbon-neutral initiatives
Support the collection and reporting of Environmental and Safety data for EcoVadis (ESG) compliance
Maintain EMS and safety corrective action records, and enter related work orders in JDE
Continuous Improvement and Process Effectiveness:
Assist in internal audits and reporting related to ISO 14001 (EMS)
Support initiatives for continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety practices
Assist in quantitative and qualitative analysis of process effectiveness for EHS-related programs
Maintain documentation and analyze process effectiveness to enhance compliance and performance
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health, Engineering or related fields
Three or more years of experience in an environmental, health and safety-focused position
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions
Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols
Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures
Skill in developing safety procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of the principles of industrial hygiene
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Ability to travel frequently between local offices
