About the Role
Reporting to the newly appointed Manager – Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance, the Environmental Superintendent plays a pivotal leadership role in driving environmental performance across site. This is an opportunity to influence outcomes at a strategic level—ensuring rigorous compliance, optimised systems, and technically robust environmental programs that support safe, efficient and sustainable operations.
Leading a capable and motivated environmental team, you will partner closely with operational leaders to embed environmental excellence into day‑to‑day decision‑making. You will oversee the delivery of our Environmental Licence requirements, including environmental monitoring programs covering groundwater, surface water, sediment and dust, while continuously improving systems, processes and efficiencies.

About You
You are a technically strong environmental leader with tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Your background in refining, heavy industry, mining or manufacturing has equipped you with a deep, practical understanding of Environmental Management Systems, and how to apply them in complex operational environments.
You bring proven experience navigating Queensland environmental legislation, approvals, permits and compliance reporting, with the confidence to represent the organisation in technical discussions with regulators, government departments and community stakeholders. Your ability to translate regulatory requirements into efficient, compliant and operationally practical outcomes sets you apart.
Highly organised and solutions‑focused, you thrive in autonomous roles where accountability matters. You communicate with clarity, build strong relationships across all levels of the business, and take pride in delivering technically sound outcomes with a proactive, can‑do mindset.
