The VP of Sales will lead, develop, and implement the sales strategy for the company. They will be responsible for driving revenue growth and fostering long-term customer relationships. The VP of Sales will work closely with other senior leaders to align the sales strategy with overall business objectives.
Summary of essential job functions
Commercial Strategy
· Provide expert input into the vision and strategy to be able to execute on the short- and long-term revenue growth goals for the overall organization.
· Implement strategies for driving new business opportunities, KPI development, and execution to the business objectives.
· Establish priorities, align resources, and implement best practices, procedures, and programs across their assigned accounts.
Sales Leadership
· Provides input for sales and pricing teams’ goals, activities and performance to KPIs. Is accountable for achievements across their assigned accounts.
· Develop sales strategies to expand customer base and penetrate new markets.
· Develop relationships at every level of their assigned accounts.
Customer Experience
· Understand the current state of customer experience and works tirelessly with customer service, customer advocacy and support functions to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.
· Develop and implement strategies for improving customer retention and loyalty.
· Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the voice of the customer is integrated into business decisions.
· Construct and manage account plans, with executive sponsor and account team, for each account assigned.
· Guide the customer as a partner, developing and managing expectations, ensuring excellent results and client satisfaction.
Financial Management
· Understands the revenue forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics and is able to adjust activities to affect the results.
· Provides insights on key commercial KPIs (e.g., revenue growth, customer acquisition, market share).
· Monitor and manage the profitability of assigned accounts.
· Able to build out multi-year sales pipeline and forecast business development annually.
Partnerships & Business Development
- Identify and build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including distributors, partners, and third-party vendors.
- Lead negotiations and collaborations that enhance the company’s commercial position.
