Grant Thornton Australia is one of the world's leading independently-owned and managed accounting, advisory and consulting firms.
Our culture is underpinned by a commitment to our clients, people and communities, and our promise to ‘Reach for Remarkable’ by providing proven expertise, principled execution, and personalised experience.
In Australia, we’re proud to support the careers of over 1,500 remarkable people. With six offices nationally and partner firms in more than 145 markets, wherever you want to go, we can take you there.
The opportunity
As part of Grant Thornton’s national Sustainability Reporting Advisory team, you will play a senior leadership role at the forefront of sustainability reporting and regulatory change in Australia and globally. You will lead complex client engagements, support the development of high performing teams and contribute to the continued growth and maturity of the practice as organisations respond to rapidly evolving sustainability reporting expectations.
The Sustainability Reporting Advisory team is on a strong growth trajectory, driven by mandatory sustainability and climate related financial disclosures, heightened board and executive focus, and increasing integration of sustainability considerations into financial, risk and strategic decision-making.
We support organisations to apply sustainability reporting standards and regulatory requirements – including AASB S1 and S2, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and related frameworks – in a way that is practical, proportionate and aligned to business strategy and value creation. Operating as a truly national team, we collaborate closely with assurance, tax and advisory specialists to deliver integrated, commercially focused sustainability reporting solutions.
Our work spans the full maturity spectrum, from early-stage readiness and executive education through to first time and ongoing reporting, helping clients embed sustainability into governance, financial reporting, risk management and performance frameworks.
With mandatory climate related financial disclosures now legislated in Australia, the team plays a critical role in technical leadership, capability building and market education. We support clients as they prepare to report, while also strengthening sustainability reporting capability across Grant Thornton through internal technical leadership and collaboration with assurance and other service lines.
Senior Manager value proposition
As a Senior Manager in Sustainability Reporting Advisory, you bring depth, judgement and calm leadership to complex sustainability reporting engagements at a time of significant regulatory change. You combine strong technical capability with proven delivery leadership, enabling clients to navigate new reporting obligations with confidence while building sustainable internal capability. You play a critical role in leading teams, managing managers and setting the standard for quality, consistency and professionalism across the practice, and bring the credibility to support—and, where of interest, increasingly lead—client pursuits that strengthen trusted relationships and contribute to the firm’s growth.
Your role
As a Senior Manager, you will be a leader within the Sustainability Reporting Advisory practice. You will be responsible for the end-to-end leadership of significant client engagements, the management and development of managers and senior team members, and active contribution to the delivery excellence and strategic direction of the practice.
You will work closely with Partners and Directors to build and maintain strong client relationships, support business development initiatives and lead the development of high-quality proposals. This includes shaping client propositions, contributing to scope and approach development, and supporting the effective transition from proposal to delivery.
In addition to client delivery, you will play an important role in shaping service offerings, strengthening internal capability and supporting go to market initiatives. This role requires a confident, mature and experienced professional who is comfortable operating at executive and board level, managing senior teams and delivering high quality outcomes in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.
