Summary

Major Duties
The typical season for this position is May - December but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is May 2026. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following: Conduct surveys, excavations, and site documentation, including mapping and artifact recovery. Clean, catalog, and analyze artifacts in the laboratory, maintaining accurate records. Follow federal and state regulations in field and lab work. Prepare field notes, site maps, and draft sections of archaeological reports. Adhere to safety protocols during fieldwork and ensure environmental protection of sites. Work closely with archaeologists, supervisors, and other technicians to meet project goals. Perform physically demanding tasks in various outdoor environments, including long hours and travel.
