Summary
This position is located in Northeast Regional Office, in the Office of the Regional Director.
Major Duties
Provides combined technical and administrative direction to senior subordinate staff and oversees the extensive coordination and integration of a number of high level, high visibility projects or program segments of work with broad regional-wide impact. Provides supervison guidance and direction to park superintendents and regional office staff in the accomplishment of NPS initiatives. Development of long-term strategic assessments and management of programs in interpretation, use, development, protection, maintenance, and environmental quality of park areas. Represents the NPS on all activities which promote or facilitate the accomplishment of NPS objectives. Acts with complete authority of the Regional Director, administering broad park management programs involving the coordination of numerous disciplines for the purpose of achieving the objectives of visitor enjoyment, environmental awareness, and preservation of unimpaired natural, scenic, historic, and cultural park values for future generations.
