Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a working manager by actively participating in daily maintenance tasks alongside the team.
- Lead and manage all maintenance activities related to shredders, grinders, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Operate and maintain heavy industrial equipment including grinders and shredders.
- Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned outages.
- Supervise and train maintenance technicians to ensure safe, efficient work practices.
- Prioritize and schedule work orders using a work order management system.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate vendor/contractor support when needed.
- Support and drive continuous improvement efforts to improve reliability and uptime.
- Ability to work 50-60 hours a week.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Hands-on experience with shredders, grinders, and other heavy industrial equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
- Experience with work order systems and preventive maintenance programs.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend for extended times
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or recycling environment.
- Experience in tire recycling or similar heavy industry is highly desirable.
