Position Summary:
The Welder works in a fast-paced, results-oriented production environment and is responsible for reporting on a variety of items, including garbage, recycling, yard waste containers, vehicle assemblies, and facilities components.
Your Role:
- Repairs, modifies, or fabricates a variety of metal work,k including waste containers, vehicle assemblies, and facility components.
- Cuts, fits, and welds using gas and electric equipment.
- Performs skilled brazing and soldering.
- Uses a variety of machines and equipment in and out of repair areas.
- May operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
- Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
Your Skills:
- Knowledge of tools, and methods of gas and electric welding
- Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to take and understand oral instructions.
- Reliability and dependability.
Requirements:
- At least one year of welding, fabrication, and painting experience
- Knowledge of and appreciation for safe work habits
- Forklift experience
- Valid driver's license
- Gritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.
- The environment is fast-paced, and the person in this role must be proactive, hardworking, highly organized, and an independent critical thinker.
