Miller Bros Solar is in need of a Control Center Operator (Hiring for Multiple Levels - Entry to Experienced) to join our team to assist in the monitoring and performance analysis of PV systems.
A degree with electrical background or knowledge of power systems is ideal for this position. Candidates with computer science, mathematics, physics and related engineering fields will also be considered.
The Miller Bros Solar Operations Center is a fast-paced work environment. Our operators use system metrics, data, and fault codes from our solar sites in real time to identify and analyze performance issues. This position requires an individual with acute communication skills, as incoming data will be translated to field technicians, whom the operator will dispatch work to and coordinate with to resolve issues. Additionally, relaying site status and dispatch time estimates to multiple customers will be necessary to maintain an organized work flow.
Work is completed almost entirely through technology: Solar SCADA & DAS monitoring software, as well as performance analytics applications. Preferred qualifications will include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of PV power plant systems. (Knowledge of general power plant systems is also applicable)
- Experience with applied mathematics and data science techniques and methodologies
- Experience with DAS / SCADA systems.
- Experience with Generation-Transmission-Distribution protocols
- Experience with IEEE / NREL reporting standards
- The ability to work rotating 12 hour shift, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays
