Summary
This position is located in Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division. The typical seasonal period for Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument is May-October but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2026
Major Duties
Open to the first 75 applicants or until 03/26/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration. Provides diverse visitor services to include general information, visitor assistance, and medical care to the level of certification. Explaining the monument regulations and rules to visitors. Assists with carrying out Safety and Health Programs, and monitoring routine film and special use permits for compliance. Provides direction and coordination of non-NPS personnel completing seasonal assignments or project work. NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039 hour season. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season dates noted above.
