About This Role:
The Product Quality Manager serves as the primary technical authority and guardian of build excellence for the facility’s high-stakes infrastructure solutions. This individual owns the entire quality lifecycle, overseeing the process from the initial receipt of raw materials to the final shipment of finished products. While primarily focused on the Modular Data Center (Spark) product line, the Lead also provides critical oversight for Power Distribution Centers and all other building products manufactured within the facility. This role balances technical leadership with people management, ensuring that complex integrated systems consistently meet rigorous internal and industry standards.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive product quality vision and long-term strategy aligned with organizational goals, focusing on the scalable production of Mobile Data Centers and Power Distribution units.
Team Management: Direct and mentor the Receiving and Production QC inspection teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring consistent application of inspection standards across all shifts.
Quality Systems: Manage and evolve the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS), implementing robust incoming material reviews, CAPA processes, and traceability protocols to enable effective root cause analysis.
Standards & Compliance: Serve as the technical authority for compliance with ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements (such as UL 891 and UL 9540); manage the facility’s Calibration Program for all specialized testing equipment and tooling.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to ensure all building products meet technical specifications during volume ramps and resolve systemic process breakdowns or design-to-build conflicts.
Performance Tracking: Define and track key KPIs for product quality—including Defect rates and non-conformance rates—presenting data-driven insights and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a site-wide culture of quality by leading Non-Conformance (NC) activities and providing technical training to employees on process improvement and quality matters.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct quality assessments for critical build phases and develop contingency strategies for quality-related disruptions to the "Spark" product line delivery schedule.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in product quality within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment, plus 2+ years in a leadership role managing team performance and development.
Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of build quality best practices, structural/electrical inspection techniques, and the ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints and schematics.
System Knowledge: Proven experience developing and implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS), performance dashboards, and quality improvement roadmaps.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment between production and engineering functions.
Operational Attributes: Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage conflict on the shop floor, and make data-driven decisions or approve final product shipment.
Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
Bonus Points:
