About the Role
As the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the site’s EHS strategy. You’ll ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and Flora Food Group (FFG) standards while building a culture where safety and sustainability are core to how we work.
You will partner closely with the EHS Manager, Site Leadership Team, and cross-functional operations teams to strengthen safety systems, coach leaders, champion environmental compliance, and drive continuous improvement. This role is both operational and strategic—ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the plant, solving problems, and influencing meaningful change.
What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership & Compliance
- Support the implementation and administration of all EHS programs, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene documentation and assist in audits, inspections, and follow-up activities.
- Participate in the annual EHS budget process and oversee related cost controls.
- Coordinate and support investigations of incidents and injuries, ensuring timely completion and effective corrective actions.
Safety Culture & Behavioral Programs
- Support the Behavioral Safety Excellence Program by addressing at-risk behaviors and tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Provide regular performance feedback on site safety metrics and help advance the EHS Pillar and associated sub-teams.
- Engage in root cause analyses (RCAs) and help drive the EHS Flora Food Group framework across employee teams and leadership groups.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability
- Assist in the execution of environmental programs and sustainability initiatives aligned with FFG’s Sustainable Living Plan.
- Help reduce waste costs, manage hazardous materials properly, and support eco-efficient practices across the site.
Training, Coaching & Enablement
- Identify EHS-related training needs and help deliver programs that build capability across the organization.
- Coach line managers and supervisors on EHS policies, processes, and best practices.
- Serve as a contributing member of the Food Safety Team with an understanding of product quality and HACCP plans.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
- Use problem-solving tools and risk management processes to eliminate the recurrence of issues.
- Support innovation and new initiatives that improve safety performance, environmental outcomes, and ways of working.
Other Duties
- Participate in internal/external audits, team meetings, and special projects.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Manager.
About You
You bring a solid foundation in Environmental Health & Safety and a passion for building a safe, sustainable, and efficient workplace. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or Engineering (a master’s is a plus) and have 1–2 years of practical EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. You understand EHS regulations, waste and hazardous materials management, and safe work practices, and you’re comfortable contributing to food safety and HACCP requirements.
You excel at coaching, influencing, and partnering with others at all levels, and you communicate clearly—both in writing and in presentations. You’re a critical thinker who can identify root causes, prioritize effectively, and drive meaningful corrective actions. Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are natural strengths.
You’re proficient in MS Office and familiar with EHS systems such as Airsweb, Ariba, and related reporting platforms. You thrive in a collaborative environment, support change and innovation, and bring the initiative needed to help elevate the site’s overall EHS performance.
