ROLE PURPOSE:
The incumbent is required to understand Twigg Exploration and Mining Lda’s (“Twigg” or “Company”) governance framework for Sustainability and support the Company towards maintaining its strong Environmental & Social Governance (“ESG”) performance through consistent quality reporting.
This role works with teams across all Sustainability functions (i.e. Health & Safety, Environment, People and Community Relations) to facilitate the integration of key business processes, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement. As such, the incumbent will work with various stakeholders to improve sustainability reporting processes in line with internationally recognised best practices.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Sustainability (including Corporate) and Operations teams to deliver accurate and timely sustainability reports in line with business requirements.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to understand the regulatory compliance requirements of the Balama Graphite Operation from a Sustainability reporting perspective and support the Company to remain compliant at all times.
- Support Sustainability teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with the reporting guidelines.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to improve data quality, streamline reporting processes, and promote awareness of sustainability reporting requirements.
- Support management with data management and tracking tools for ESG metrics, including data quality checks and process improvements.
- Stay up to date on sustainability reporting trends, best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct data analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate ESG performance whilst identifying and addressing any potential gaps, risks and continuous improvement opportunities including value-add ESG metrics.
- Stay abreast of potential local and/or international ESG reporting best-practices and propose improvements to Principal Adviser - Sustainability where necessary.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Higher level education in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field is preferable;
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in sustainability reporting or related field, preferably in the Extractive Industries sector;
- Demonstrated report writing experience;
- Experience with ESG reporting frameworks;
- Ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese is essential;
- Advanced IT skills across Microsoft Office 365 (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.);
- Good understanding of Mozambican laws and Mining Regulations relating to Sustainability/ESG.

The performance of the incumbent will be assessed via the Syrah Work Performance System.
