Job Description Summary
In this position, you will lead the finance function for Global Nuclear Fuel - Japan (GNF-J), a leading, provider of fuel design, fabrication and engineering services for commercial nuclear power plants in Japan. The position is responsible for full P&L ownership, including planning, forecasting, performance management, and controllership for nuclear fuel in Japan.
Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
Lead finance manager for product, project, and service cost/profit center in GE Vernova Hitachi's Nuclear Fuel joint venture.
Manage team of ~5 finance employees.
Senior member of management team that contributes towards business strategy and policy development, providing financial insight to strategic and operational decisions.
Skilled influencer, able to make complex matters simpler and understandable.
Build consensus providing constructive explanations.
Uses best judgment to make decisions and solve complex tasks or problems with significant business
impact.
Demonstrate outstanding leadership with financial experience and data analysis expertise.
Be a partner with business leader to plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum business engagement and employee success.
Understand Joint Venture Formation Agreement and execute its requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and year‑end results for the GNF-J P&L.
Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to GE Vernova financial compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline.
At least 10 years' experience in the Financial management
Significant progressive finance experience, including P&L management and FP&A, ideally in industrial, energy, or project‑based businesses.
Strong understanding of accounting, revenue recognition, and risk/reserve management
Solid knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP/IFRS) and internal control frameworks; familiarity with Japanese accounting and tax concepts.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrate ability with clear thinking to analyze and resolve problems.
Position Requirements:
Working time flexibility especially during closing and reporting period or other critical business deadline situation.
Language: Japanese-fluent, English-working or fluent.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience within GE Vernova finance and familiarity with GEV operating rhythms, tools, and policies.
Demonstrated ability to drive margin improvement and project cash optimization.
High integrity, sound judgment, and strong risk awareness, especially regarding nuclear safety, compliance, and long‑term contractual obligations.
Proven track record partnering with commercial and operations teams, influencing decisions in a matrixed, multicultural environment.
Experience with cost management and financial planning in the manufacturing industry
Ability to meet deadlines, responsive, good sense of urgency.
Demonstrate ability to lead projects.
