Key Responsibilities:
Comfortably wear two hats: one that keeps the day-to-day operations running smoothly, and another that steps back to think bigger - contributing to company strategy and long-term direction.
Description of Role:
Our vision as a company is to be world-leading at finding and designing new wind farm sites - and contribute our bit to the green revolution. We are a team of engineers and technical specialists building software, approaches, and engineering processes that together create a significantly improved level of sophistication over existing industry approaches.
Growing a small company into a leading consultancy and software provider requires its operations to run smoothly. The Operations & Strategy Associate is a high-ownership role that sits at the heart of the business. You'll help keep the engine running - systems humming, platforms organised, vendors aligned - while also stepping into the bigger picture to support strategy and growth.
You’ll report directly to the Head of Operations and the Company Founder, and your days will be varied. You’ll help ensure the daily functioning of the company, organise and lead internal initiatives, maintain and improve business tools and platforms, coordinate key vendors, support strategy research into new markets and opportunities, and bring team events and training sessions to life.
It’s part operational backbone, part strategic support, part culture builder.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Operational Superpower
-Be the quiet force that keeps the company running smoothly - from managing office premises to making sure nothing (and no one) falls through the cracks.
- Act as the go-to bridge between the team and our external partners (IT support, printers, facility vendors, and anyone else who keeps our world turning).
- Spot when we’ve outgrown a vendor, find better ones, onboard them smoothly, and build partnerships that actually work for us.
- Organise team events and workshops that people genuinely look forward to!
Strategic Brainpower
-Dive into research and explore new initiatives the company is considering - whether that’s legal policies, market insights, admin tools, insurance, or the next smart operational move.
- Turn chaos into clarity by building simple documentation, dashboards, processes, and how-to guides across tools like IT inventory, CRM, and other platforms - so we scale without scrambling.
The Bigger Picture
- Step in wherever needed to keep things organised and moving forward.
- Stay curious. Ask questions. Research deeply. Bring ideas to the table.
- Be eager to learn and contribute meaningfully to how we make decisions - not just execute them.
Candidate Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role where you’ve helped a small company run like a well-oiled (but still human) machine.
- Comfortable with Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint and Excel. If you enjoy organising things in Excel, extra brownie points.
- Experience with CRM platforms and business tools is a bonus - but if you’re tech-curious and quick to learn, that works too.
- Fluent English with strong written skills.
- An independent worker who doesn’t wait to be told what to do - you spot gaps and fill them.
- Excited by the idea of working in a small, ambitious, international, high-growth start-up where things move fast and no two days look the same.
- A genuine can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves, "let’s figure this out" attitude.
Wind Pioneers' Offering:
- Part of a focused team with a clear vision
- A friendly, relaxed office environment and team culture
- Flexible working conditions
- Market-based salary along with inclusion in Wind Pioneers’ revenue share scheme
