Job Summary
The Solar Superintendent/Project Manager will be considered the on site manager and will be working closely with other Project Managers and Foreman to make sure the job runs smoothly and comes in under budget. Candidates must have at least 5-10 years of Electrical Solar Foreman experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures that all assigned work is completed on time and within budget in accordance with the Project Manager instructions.
- Under the supervision of the Project Manager, follows all CVE procedures for setting up and running projects.
- Ensures all drawings and specs are available for field personnel and that they accurately represent the work to be done before the project starts.
- Assists Project Manager in the development, maintenance and management of document control. I.e.; Submittals, Purchase Orders, Material Tracking, Power Tracking, Change quotations, RFI’s and As-Builds, O&M Manuals, etc.
- Responsible to ensure that all required materials are ordered in a timely fashion when and where needed.
- Coordinates and tracks the need, use, and movement of shop equipment, tools and material between jobs under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- As directed by PM, prepare and develop RFI’s including research as required with project Foreman and contract documents and submit to PM.
- Ensures that all safety policies, rules and regulations are followed and enforced.
- Performs regular and/or irregular on-site visits to observe and ultimately ensure that the work is being performed in accordance with instructions.
- The Project Manager is tasked with ensuring a high level of client satisfaction with those accounts assigned to the Jr. Project Manager by the Operations Manager
Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Must have strong organization skills with the ability to effectively follow directions and coordinate, monitor and track all aspects of assigned duties for projects.
- Must have knowledge of pertinent National Electrical codes. Must have a knowledge of and ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering; however, project management experience in the commercial electrical contracting industry may substitute.
- Must possess the ability to work independently under the direction of assigned Sr. Project Manager and interact closely with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, contractors, owners, suppliers, representatives of municipalities and other outside professionals.
EXPERIENCE:
- Required: 1-3 years project management or project assistant experience with a high quality commercial electrical contractor.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and interact closely with diverse groups of people, including company employees at all levels, contractors, owners, suppliers, Subcontractors and other outside professionals.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering; however, project management experience in the commercial electrical contracting industry may substitute
