We are seeking to recruit a highly passionate, enthusiastic and versatile HV battery systems manager to propel forward battery technology and manage product delivery to all vehicle programs within the company. This is a combined managerial and technical position within the EE Institute, reporting to the Director of High Voltage Systems.
Profile:
Ideally, in the early years of your career, you should have started as battery modelling engineer or battery design engineer/architect and have a track record in developing battery packs for automotive applications or relevant technologies.
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in battery development/manufacturing for automotive applications
- Acute awareness of the trend of Li-Ion (NMC/NCA/LFP) and solid-state batteries, battery intelligence, BMS, battery EE components and their packaging
- Experience in design for manufacturing, design verification and test & validation of battery packs
- Experience in high volume manufacturing of battery cells or packs
- Sharp technical sense in identifying potential innovative battery solutions and resolving technical issues
- Experience in battery thermal management and compact integration of HV systems
- Knowledge of BMS, VCU and automotive communication protocols
- Knowledge of ISO26262 functional safety and cybersecurity
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliant hardware design and test
- Familiar with relevant battery safety standards and regulations
Responsibilities:
As the owner of the battery system/module, you will lead and align cross-functional team members from managing system-level requirements to supporting product development and integration to the HV system across all vehicle programs.
- Build and lead a team in defining battery specifications, system integration strategy roadmap and out-of-the-box innovations to leapfrog competitors
- Lead team members to innovate new product and inspire others within the company to innovate
- Lead and drive task forces to resolve battery technical and supplier issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement to existing battery product and HV system integration
- Provide guidance to engineers to troubleshoot faults and improve system performance and reliability
- Liaise with external and internal suppliers/manufacturers to drive improvements in performance, quality and cost
- Define required budget and team planning to meet targets and timelines
