Position Summary:
The Development Account Associate helps the Development department sustain and grow the funding LACI needs to accomplish its mission. Reporting directly to the VP of Development, the Account Associate is a key role in supporting and developing funder relationships, and generating general operating support and program funding from the private sector, corporate philanthropy, and high-net-worth/individual giving (HNWIs).
The Account Associate will prospect and generate leads and support all aspects of the account management process, including but not limited to: preparing and presenting strategic presentations and proposals, leading on funder agreements and engagement plans, onboarding new accounts, managing CRM data, and event fundraising. Success in the role requires adept interpersonal skills, specialized relationship building, and a passion for data and getting to ‘yes’, as well as excellent verbal and written communication, and project and time management.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Business Development: Research, evaluate, and generate qualified mission-aligned leads across the private sector, corporate foundations, and individual giving/HNWI possessing at least $1M in charitable or liquid assets.
- Maintain Salesforce CRM: Utilize lead generation tools and technology to prioritize high-value targets accordingly. Manage prospect and funder lifecycle data in Salesforce CRM system, including but not limited to creating and maintaining dashboards, documents, reports, communication, and cultivation engagement, as well as the renewal process
- Account Management: Draft outreach and engagement action plans in collaboration with the Development team and Program staff, including but not limited to briefing memos, meeting agenda & notes, presentations, agreements, and funder renewal process. Establish ownership & accountability by assigning the proper roles, responsibilities, and point(s) of contact for LACI accounts & funder relationships
- Communication and Relationships: Provide consistent account management expectations internally & externally by establishing a ‘standard of care’ across all accounts, regardless of account ownership or stage in the account lifecycle. Promote efficient collaboration by streamlining processes, technology, and communication to enhance the funder experience. Understand funder needs and wants. Curate relationships to get to ‘yes’. Support all aspects of donor acknowledgement and reporting requirements in partnership with LACI Finance and Compliance teams
- Event Fundraising: Develop funder-related event materials, including but not limited to sponsorship benefits, tiers, and engagement plans. Lead on fundraising event logistics, including invite curation, list management, and communications. Support revenue goals for donor/funder-specific events

Requirements:
Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing
- Experience preparing journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, internal controls, and compliance
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow through on assignments and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit accounting, including government grants or restricted funds
- Exposure to external audits and federal compliance (OMB Uniform Guidance, Code of Federal Regulations)
- Experience supporting process improvements or strengthening accounting procedures
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/accounting integration tools
- Interest in continuing to develop technical and analytical skills to research, interpret, and apply complex financial guidance
Work Requirements
- Hybrid position onsite at Downtown LA office 3 days/week
This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here.
Salary Range: Coordinator Range $64-73k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
