The opportunity:
NWC is in search of a Director of EHSS that can be ready on day one to be able to jump in on multiple fronts. This job will be managing the campus’ Environmental Health, Safety, Sustainability, Janitorial and Food and Beverage departments. Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of EHSS will work closely with all facilities staff to create a safe, efficient and compliant environment by managing Emergency preparedness and responses, chemical management, PPE, training and education, safety, SOPs. Involvement on KPI’s, budgets, auditing and inspections and incidents and inspections. on strategic planning, budgeting and leading teams on maintaining the campus. Oversee all operational software upgrades and planning, assist with IT plans and oversight, they will support policies, goals, and objectives established by the COO.

What you will do:
Facilities & Campus Management
- Assuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, City and County of Denver municipal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Lead and conduct investigations of accidents and injuries and oversee preparation of material evidence for use in hearings, legal, liability and insurance investigations.
- Develops, implements, updates, audits and manages programs, policies and procedures for all environmental, health, safety and sustainability in alignment with security department on safety and security responsibilities and initiatives, including certification programs.
- Manage all driver checks and training for any vehicle use.
- Keep knowledgeable of changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization; readiness is key and expected prior to legislation that may or will have an impact on the company operations or well-being and updates process and policy as appropriate.
- Assist with insurance management and renewal along with education of campus implications.
- Assist with F&B, Janitorial, Sustainability departments to maintain budget and standards.
- Reporting to senior leadership, providing reports, insights and recommendations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
RequirementsWhat you will bring along:
- 5 years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in area applicable to EHSS management in the convention/entertainment industries; or proven relevant experience in the field.
- Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability and contract implementation, budget management.
- Knowledge of building asset management process and reporting.
- Knowledge and application of legal and EHS regulations, mitigate risks, EHS regulations, ISO and OSHA standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Compliance and regulations, communicating effectively, leading and motivating teams.
- CSP, REHS, CIH or other industry certifications.
- High EQ and interpersonal skills

BenefitsCompensation range:
The starting salary is $90,000 – 110,000
Internal candidates must be with Authority for 6 months to be eligible

The Authority is the primary entity responsible for ensuring the National Western Center achieves its mission. It is also responsible for developing a community investment fund benefiting the residents of the Globeville, Elyria and Swansea neighborhoods in which the campus is located. The Authority’s work is well underway in preparation for buildings being completed and the larger campus opening to the public. The Authority is guided by a 13-member board of directors. The Authority is doing business as (DBA) the National Western Center.
