We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead environmental site assessment and remediation projects, with a strong emphasis on the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP). The successful candidate will manage projects from scoping through closure, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the primary client interface.
Responsibilities:
·Management of projects in support of Regional Director or solely manage projects with Regional Director oversight as they relate to real estate due diligence, site assessment, and/or site remediation projects.
·Develop/scope environmental assessments taking into account site history, known contaminants, and regulator expectations.
·Coordinate and manage subcontractors and in-house staff/direct reports.
·Interpret soil, groundwater and soil vapor data relative to applicable standards or guidance values.
·Prepares and reviews proposals to ensure all client expectations are included, budgeted work hours and fee schedules are accurate, and agreements include all PVEDI business planning and safety costs.
·Involved in invoicing process including timely communication of any changes in scope and timeline of project which might impact billable hours, rates and client expectations.
·Reviews technical field staff reports/work products for accuracy and grammar.
·Responsible for understanding and satisfying federal, state and city regulatory requirements and environmental conditions needed to satisfy both regulator and lender’s requirements.
·Understanding of NYSDEC regulations as they pertain to the investigation and remediation of a site including but not limited to 6NYCRR Parts 360 surrounding soil reuse and Part 375, DER-10, CP-51 and CP-43.
·Stays informed regarding company and OSHA mandated safety guidelines.Assists Regional Director with ensuring that all team members are equipped with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and have received required training per client requirements.
·Collaborates with Regional Director and other technical staff to ensures that client Safety requirements and training are in place before visiting work sites.May train and mentor staff on specific client rules for work on their sites.
·Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements:
·Demonstrated experience managing NYSDEC BCP projects.
·Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
·Qualified Environmental Professional or Professional Geologist preferred.
·This is an in-person work position based in Poughkeepsie, NY but will often involve travel in excess of 2-hours from base office, at times.Some project assignments may be in the NYC metropolitan area.
·Job requires the ability to navigate over rough terrain, urban, rural and industrial sites.Must have a valid driver’s and safe driving record.Must also be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, operating a computer keyboard and general office equipment.
